Here comes the Beethoven Opus 18 Marathon!
When: June 19th, every hour on the hour from 1-6pm.

All on Vashon Highway! All on the same day!
Why: To celebrate the completion of the first year of the Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project and to benefit the programs of Vashon Chamber Music- community concerts, senior concerts and children’s concerts, as well as scholarships for the Vashon Island String Camp this August 9-14.
Admission: Free will donation.
Please join us for the final installment of the first year of the Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project. The Girsky Quartet will be performing op. 18 no. 6 plus Haydn’s op. 77 no. 1 – both composed in the year of 1799! An amazing juxtaposition of the mature Haydn and the youthful Beethoven.
Then, on June 19th, we celebrate our first year milestone with the Op. 18 Marathon. Six quartets at three different churches. Watch this blog for the details.
The Vashon Island Cello Camp is now the Vashon Island String Camp! After the amazing success of our guest cellist/teacher Andrew Cook with his student groups winning national chamber music competitions, we have decided to open the camp to a few upper string players as well so that they can benefit from his expertise. Rowena and Doug will be joined by Island favorites violinist Karin Choo and tenor Dr. Gary Koch, for a program of music from the British Isles. The musicale is a fundraiser to support the programs of Vashon Chamber Music. All reservations and donations are tax-deductible. Vashon Chamber Music is excited to announce the first Vashon Island Cello Camp. Geared towards the intermediate/advanced cellist ages 14 and up, the camp will take place August 9-14 at beautiful Camp Burton on Vashon Island. Join faculty Rowena Hammill, Douglas Davis, Charmian Bartlett and special guest from Los Angeles, Andrew Cook, for six days of concerts, practice, lessons, master classes and FUN!!
